Central Mongolia, Gobi Desert and Northern Mongolia Tour

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar city

Arrive to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel. City tour: Visit to  Gandan tegchinleng Monastery and Sukhbaatar Square. Lunch. Visit to the National Museum of Mongolian History. In the evening, see a performance of the National Folkloric Ensemble. Dinner. (L, D)

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar-Dundgobi or Middle Gobi

Drive to Baga Gazryn Chuluu. Lunch in a tourist /gher/ camp near *Zorgol Khairkhan* mountain. Arrive to the gher camp at Baga Gazryn Chuluu and stay. Visit to Baga Gazryn Chuluu. You can see different shaped rocks and ruin of the ancient temple. Have dinner and overnight at the ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Baga Gazryn Chuluu of Dundgobi or Middle Gobi – Bayanzag or Saxaul tree /Haloxylon ammondendron/ forest

After early breakfast, drive to Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs. Have boxed- lunch. Visit to Sum Khukh Burd and Erdenedalain temple. Arrive to the tourist camp in the evening. See and hike in the small Saxaul tree forest. Explore the world famous Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag), the Gobi Dinosaurs Cemetery where the expedition of Roy Chapman Andrews in 1924 did the larger paleontological discoveries, finding an impressive quantity of discoveries among which the eggs, components and whole skeletons of dinosaurs of much unknown species until then. Have dinner and overnight in the gher camp. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Bayanzag – Canyon of Yol or Lammergeiers (Bearded vulture- Gypaetus barbatus) of Umnugobi aimag or South Gobi

Have breakfast. Drive to Yol Canyon or Valley. Spend the day on a full day excursion to Yol Valley (Lammergeiers Canyon) National Park for hiking. Visit to the local Museum of Yol Valley. Spend the afternoon hiking or relaxing. Return to the tourist camp and spend the night. (B, L, D)

Day 5: South Gobi-Khongoryn Els sand Dunes

After breakfast, drive to Khongor Sand Dunes, known as *Singing Dunes*. Have lunch in the tourist camp. Climb up Mongolia’s biggest sand dunes .Visit to camel breeding family and camel riding for an hour. Have dinner in the ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Bayanzag-Monastery of Ongi

After early breakfast, drive to the north-east. Stop for lunch in a tourist camp near Bayanzag. After lunch, drive to the *Ongyn Khiid* monastery. Visit to the local small temple museum and see ruins of the ancient two temples on the banks of Ongi River. Stay at the tourist camp. Hike in the Valley of Ongi River. Have dinner and spend the night in the tourist camp. (D, A, C)

Day 7: Monastery of Ongi – Karakorum, ancient capital of the Mongolian Empire

After early breakfast at the tourist camp, continue driving to Karakorum. Arrive at Karakorum. Have lunch at the tourist camp. Visit to Erdene-zuu Monastery in Karakorum soum, which was once one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia, and then was almost destroyed in the 1930s. Make a tour of the monastery grounds and see several chapels with excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the 16th century. Visit to the symbolic ruins of Karakorum, the 13th century capital of the Mongolian Empire. Have dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Karakorum – Tsenkher Hot Springs

Have breakfast. Then, drive to the Tsenkher hot springs. Stay at the gher camp. Have lunch. Enjoy a natural hot bath. Hike in the forest and seeing hot springs’ fountain and flowers. Have dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Tsenkher Hot Springs – Lake *Terkhiin Tsagaan*

After breakfast, drive to Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake and Khorgo dead volcano. Have lunch on the way at the ger camp near Taikhar Rock. Arrive at the gher camp near *Terkhiin Tsagaan* Lake and stay. Have dinner and overnight at the ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Lake *Terkhiin Tsagaan* and *Khorgo* dead Volcano

After breakfast, start walking to Horgo dead Volcano and Shar Nohoin Tam/ Hell of the Yellow Dog. Have lunch at the ger camp. Have leisure time at lake. Have dinner and overnight at the ger camp. (B, L, D)

Day 11: *Terkhiin Tsagaan* Lake and Uran Uul Volcano

After early breakfast, drive to Uran Uul Volcano. Have picnic lunch. In the afternoon, arrive at the tourist camp. Have dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Uran Uul Volcano – Amarbayasgalant Monastery

Have breakfast, climb up Urantogoo volcano. Hiking in the Larch forest and seeing a lot of species of flowers. After climbed down, drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. On the way, have lunch in a restaurant of Erdenet city or Orkhon aimag. Continue to drive to Amarbayasgalant. Arrive at the ger camp. Visit to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Have dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Amabayasgalant Monastery – Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, drive to Ulaanbaatar. On the way, have lunch in a tourist camp. Continue to drive to Ulaanbaatar. Stay in our hotel. Have dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 14: Departure

After breakfast, drive to airport or train station for departure. (B)
